Our Curriculum – Learning Without Limits

Know, Be, Do – The Kura Toa Learning Model

At Kura Toa, learning is guided by our Know, Be, Do approach—supporting champions to build knowledge, grow in who they are, and apply learning in meaningful ways.

Know – Building Knowledge

Champions develop strong foundations and understand the world around them.

Be – Growing Who We Are

Champions grow in their identity, values, and how they show up in the world.

Do – Learning Through Action

Champions apply their learning in real and meaningful ways.

Who is Te Kura o Toa For?

Kura Toa is for students in Years 7–13 (from July 2026) and their whānau who are seeking an education that is different, purposeful, and grounded in identity.

We partner with whānau and their champions who align with our Ngāti Toa grounded curriculum and are committed to growing respectful, confident, and capable young people.

Our learning environment includes smaller class sizes, mixed-ability learning, and a strong tuakana–teina approach. With specialist support and a focus on wellbeing, every learner is supported to succeed.

Together, we are building young people who are ready to contribute and make their mark in the world.
